Candice’s Story

This awareness film highlights the intersection of several of YWCA Seattle King Snohomish’s core services through the lived experience of Candace, a domestic violence survivor. We follow her journey from crisis intervention and emergency housing into the BankWork$ program, documenting how stable housing provided the foundation for her to launch a career in the financial sector. This short film serves to illustrate the YWCA’s holistic approach to breaking systemic barriers.

Femme2STEM

Exploring the transition from education to career, this YWCA Seattle King Snohomish Luncheon Video captures the impact of the Femme2STEM program through the story of Heena, a University of Washington Informatics student navigating the competitive tech landscape. This video highlights how the program provides critical resources—including mentorship, internship placement, and financial support—to female-identified and non-binary BIPOC youth who may lack traditional industry connections. This piece illustrates how YWCA works to level the playing field in STEM, helping students like Heena translate their passion for advocacy into a professional career.
