Volunteers of America

VOA Food Bank

This short informational video outlines the critical expansion of Volunteers of America Western Washington’s food distribution efforts in response to a “100% increase in regional food insecurity”. The video details the transition from the Everett Food Bank to a massive 57,000-square-foot distribution center, utilizing advanced high-capacity racking to meet the "struggle for survival" faced by local families. By documenting the logistics of this new hub, the video showcases how the organization has evolved into a statewide resource that honors its mission of saving lives and feeding those in need.

Ramona’s Story

Centering on the lived experience of a single mother navigating the rising cost of living, this short-doc illustrates the critical gap Volunteers of America fills for those living just above the assistance threshold. The film follows Ramona’s journey through the "hidden" struggle of food and housing insecurity, documenting how targeted support prevented homelessness and provided the stability needed to work toward debt-free living. By capturing this intimate perspective, the film highlights the organization's role in helping families regain their footing and move from a state of survival back to simply living life.

A Ukrainian Refugee Family Story

After fleeing Ukraine, the Tchaikovsky family made their way to Washington State. VOAWW has been “a blessing” as well as a soft landing for the Tchaikovsky’s–providing food, shelter, and community while they build their new lives in the United States.
